As the year nears its close, it becomes both a season of giving and a time for meaningful stories. At Dignitas, we have a story to share about Mr. Beaver.
He has been working hard all year long, and he saved lots and lots of coins. At the end of the year, Mr. Beaver counted the coins, and he wanted to share some of the coins to his beloved friend, Mr. Stork.
He trains Ukrainian soldiers to use unmanned ground vehicles to save lives. Mr. Beaver thought “I can send money to Mr. Stork through Dignitas Ukraine, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supplies training drones to Ukrainian defenders.” He realized he hasn’t yet taken advantage of tax deduction benefits, so it is the right time for him to give. He knew his contribution could make a difference.
The other day, Mr. Beaver’s boss told him that the company has a gift matching program. Mr. Beaver thought, “wow! My donations to Dignitas could be doubled!” He immediately rushed to his boss and asked to make a matching gift for his contributions. He also shared the story about his friend in Ukraine, Mr. Stork, and why was important for Mr. Beaver to give to Dignitas.
The Boss was moved by Mr. Beaver’s enthusiasm. She matched it immediately, doubling the support for Mr. Stork and for those working to protect lives on the frontlines.
And that is how Mr. Beaver closed the year with joy in his heart.

If You Can’t Find Your Company
Not seeing your employer listed doesn’t mean they don’t match. Try these steps:
- Visit the Benevity website to explore participating companies, including Dignitas Ukraine Inc.
- Check your company intranet, HR portal, or internal giving pages for matching gift information.
- Ask your HR department whether a matching program exists and how you can enroll.
- Check your employee handbook or ask coworkers if they’ve submitted matching gifts before.
Every matched donation helps multiply support for Ukrainian men and women defending their nation. A few moments of checking can double your impact.
