Meet Olga — a young, delicate yet full of energy woman from the Sumy region. Once, her life was filled with joy, love, and the steady rhythm of family life. Her greatest treasure was her twelve-year-old daughter, and she worked as an inspector in a correctional facility, balancing work and family with grace.
But everything changed in an instant.
When russia launched its brutal invasion of Ukraine, Olga’s world, like that of millions of Ukrainians, was turned upside down. Olga worried deeply about her homeland and did everything she could to help: supporting the army and assisting displaced people.
When her husband was gravely wounded on the frontlines and could no longer serve, Olga knew it was her turn to act. It was a devastating blow, but Olga knew she couldn’t let it break her.
In autumn 2024, Olga joined the Victory Drones program by Dignitas, “Applying Technology in Warfare” — a course that trains Ukrainians in modern military technology.
Through this program, she mastered cybersecurity, radio-electronic intelligence, and electronic warfare, gaining expertise in Ukrainian-developed tools like Kropyva, a software for mission planning and tactical decisions, and Tsukorok, a device that detects enemy drones and saves lives.
With the help of Dignitas these life-saving technologies empowered Olga in ways she never imagined. With this newfound knowledge, she signed a three-year contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, transforming from a mother and wife into a defender on the frontlines, fighting for her family and all of Ukraine.
Olga’s story is one of courage and resilience. Olga shows us what it means to rise above fear, to find strength in the darkest times, and to fight for the things that matter most.
But she can’t do it alone.
