We’re proud to announce that Dignitas Ukraine has successfully completed its independent financial audit for 2024 — with a clean, unqualified opinion. This means our financial statements were found to be accurate, complete, and in full compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

In the United States, every nonprofit that raises $1 million or more annually is required to undergo an external financial audit. In 2024, Dignitas Ukraine raised $1.8 million — thanks to the incredible generosity of our global supporters. This is your impact, and this audit confirms it was handled with care, transparency, and integrity.

For those who want a deeper look at what that funding accomplished, we invite you to download our full 2024 Impact Report. Inside, you’ll find key highlights, including:

  • 3,757 drones delivered to defenders
  • 1,051 drone detection devices and accessories distributed
  • 80,000+ trainees educated through our Victory Drones program
  • 20,000+ individuals completed online technology courses
  • 7 mobile units built and delivered (including drone repair workshops and shower-laundry complexes)
  • 81 veterans completed reintegration training
  • 21 robotic operators trained at our new Victory Robots initiative
  • And much more.

All of this has been audited, verified, and confirmed — your trust is not just valued; it’s earned.

Who Conducted the Audit

The audit was carried out by Goldenthal & Suss Consulting, P.C., a certified and independent public accounting firm based in the U.S. The process was thorough and detailed — and we are pleased to report that the auditors found no issues or concerns.

We also want to recognize our internal team members who made this effort possible. Special thanks to our finance team — Alex Sinyavskyi, Oksana Patrina, and Dmytro Kavun, Director of Dignitas Ukraine — for leading this effort internally.

While audits may not be the most glamorous part of nonprofit work, they are essential — and our team handled it with professionalism and excellence.

Why Financial Audits Matter

Independent financial audits are more than a legal requirement — they are a key part of responsible nonprofit governance. Here’s what they ensure:

  • Transparency and accountability in how donor funds are used
Audits confirm that donations are tracked, recorded, and spent exactly as promised — on programs, equipment, and services directly related to the mission.
  • Fraud prevention through internal controls
A well-conducted audit checks that we have the right checks and balances in place — like separation of duties, documented procedures, and oversight — to prevent misuse or mismanagement of funds.
  • Better decision-making through data
By analyzing how funds were used across different programs, audits help leadership refine strategies, improve budgeting, and reallocate resources where they’re most needed.
  • Demonstrated organizational maturity
Completing an audit — and doing so successfully — shows that Dignitas Ukraine has the systems, discipline, and structure of a long-term, professional organization.
  • Improved operational efficiency
Auditors often identify ways to reduce costs, streamline processes – helping nonprofits operate more effectively.

This successful audit confirms that Dignitas Ukraine is already using every dollar wisely, ensuring that donor contributions go as far as possible in supporting our mission.

  • Reinforced public and donor trust
A clean audit from an independent firm is objective proof that supporters can trust our financial reporting. It builds confidence for individuals, institutions, and grantmakers.

It’s not just about today’s donations — it’s about building a better tomorrow.

Why We Did the Audit

Yes, we were required to do an audit after raising over $1 million in 2024 — but for us, it wasn’t just a box to check. It’s a reflection of how we work, what we stand for, and the kind of organization we’re building.

It shows clearly where every donation goes — whether it’s drones and batteries, training simulators, or mobile hygiene units. It also gives us the data and insights we need to make smart, flexible decisions as the situation on the ground evolves.

At Dignitas Ukraine, we operate in a high-stakes environment — a war zone where every dollar truly counts. An annual audit helps us make sure those dollars are used exactly where they’re needed most.

If you want to see what that looks like in action, our 2024 Impact Report breaks it down — from equipment delivered to defenders, to training programs, to every major initiative your support made possible.

And just as important, the independent financial audit strengthens our ability to apply for large-scale grants and work with trusted international partners — giving us more resources to support those defending Ukraine.

Why We’re Sharing This

We share this with our community because you’re part of this work. Our donors are not just funding our projects — they’re shaping the future of Ukraine. And you deserve to know that your investment is being handled with professionalism and care.

We know trust isn’t automatic — it’s something you build. That’s why we’re open about our finances, our results, and the systems behind them.

And let’s be honest — in times like these, transparency matters more than ever. By sharing our audit results, we’re not just showing what we’ve done right — we’re setting a standard not only for ourselves, but for how nonprofits can and should operate in a time of war.

Thank You

We are deeply grateful to everyone who makes our work possible — from our generous donors and tireless volunteers to our partners and staff around the world. Completing this audit was a collective effort, and it reflects what we can achieve together.

Whether you gave $5 or $50,000 — your support is making a real impact in the lives of Ukrainian defenders, veterans, and civilians. This audit confirms it.

And with your continued trust, we’ll keep building, flying, training — and winning.

Thank you.
